BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia has lauded the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta's presentation of the Delhi budget, highlighting it as a new approach aimed at bringing positive changes to the city. Bhatia emphasized that the promises made in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra (manifesto) will be fulfilled, with one of the major provisions being the allocation of Rs 2500 per month for every woman in Delhi, amounting to a total provision of Rs 5100 crore in the budget.

“It is a matter of pride for us that when Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the Delhi budget, it was brought with a new thinking and enthusiasm. Whatever was said in the Sankalp Patra will be fulfilled. A big example of this is that every woman will get Rs 2500 per month, and a provision of Rs 5100 crore has been made in the budget for this,” Bhatia stated.

He went on to criticize the previous AAP government, accusing it of mismanagement and unfulfilled promises. Bhatia pointed out that during the tenure of the AAP government, only Rs 50 lakh out of the Rs 65 crore allocated for the improvement of Scheduled Caste (SC) colonies was used. He also referenced the "Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana," a program intended to provide coaching centers and allowances for children from backward communities, but noted that the Rs 70 crore allocated for this initiative had seen zero utility.

"Under the 'Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana', the objective was to provide coaching centres for children coming from backward societies and give them an allowance... There was zero utility on the budget allocation of Rs 70 crore," Bhatia remarked.

Further intensifying his criticism of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bhatia accused him of overseeing "waste, corruption, and blatant dishonesty" during his tenure.

Bhatia's statement comes as the BJP aims to demonstrate a contrast between its governance approach and the previous AAP administration, focusing on practical, impactful initiatives like the women’s financial aid program and improving resources for marginalized communities.
