Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Holds ‘Kheer Ceremony’ Ahead of Budget Session; Political Activity Intensifies

New Delhi, March 23: Political and administrative activity has intensified in Delhi ahead of the upcoming Budget Session, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hosting the traditional ‘Kheer Ceremony’ to mark the formal beginning of the session.

The ceremony was attended by ministers Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Kapil Mishra and other leaders. As part of the tradition, kheer was served to schoolgirls, symbolizing the start of the budget proceedings.


Focus on Development in Upcoming Budget

BJP MLA Satish Upadhyay said that details of the budget cannot be disclosed yet, but emphasized that the Chief Minister will present a roadmap focused on the overall development of Delhi.

Another BJP MLA, Harish Khurana, stated that the government has worked on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, ensuring inclusivity across all sections of society.

He added that the session will begin with the Economic Survey, followed by the presentation of the Budget.


AAP Warns of Boycott Over MLA Suspension

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has warned of a possible boycott of the Budget Session if the suspension of its four MLAs is not revoked.

Responding to the development, Minister Ashish Sood said that any attempt to create disruption in the Assembly would be dealt with strictly. He also stressed that the decision of the Assembly Speaker is final and should be respected.


No Extra Burden on Public, Says Government

On the upcoming budget, Ashish Sood said the past year has been focused on governance reforms and administrative improvements under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta.

He assured that the government will not impose any additional financial burden on citizens, dismissing speculations regarding a hike in electricity tariffs.


Inclusive Budget for All Sections

BJP MLA Karnail Singh said the budget has been designed keeping in mind the needs of farmers, women, youth, and the transgender community.

Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh also rejected speculation about electricity price hikes, stating that decisions will be based strictly on facts and data.
