India AI Impact Summit 2026 Kicks Off in New Delhi

New Delhi: The India AI Impact Summit 2026 commenced in the national capital today, marking the first global artificial intelligence summit to be hosted by a developing country. The five-day conference aims to strengthen India’s role in shaping the global AI agenda and position the country as a key convener and partner in international AI collaboration.

 

More than 100 countries have been invited to participate in the summit, with over 200,000 registrations recorded for the event. The conference seeks to promote shared standards, collaborative frameworks, and technology-driven solutions designed for the public good.

 

Global leaders from 20 countries are scheduled to attend the summit. Among them are French President Emmanuel Macron, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Swiss President Viola Amherd, Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, Crown Prince of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Prime Minister of Mauritius Navin Chandra Ramgoolam, President of Sri Lanka Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Vice President of Seychelles Ahmed Afif, and Prime Minister of Bhutan Tshering Tobgay.

 

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, leaders from Bolivia, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Guyana, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein, Serbia, and Slovakia are also expected to participate. Ministerial-level delegations from more than 45 countries, along with the United Nations Secretary-General and senior officials from international organisations, will take part in the summit.

 

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is guided by three core pillars — People, Planet, and Progress — which frame discussions on global cooperation in artificial intelligence. The summit will deliberate across seven thematic areas, including human capital development, inclusion and social empowerment, safe and reliable AI, scientific advancement, resilience and innovation, democratisation of AI resources, and AI-driven economic development and social well-being.

 

The summit is expected to generate key policy discussions and collaborative initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence.
