Today's stock market: In early morning trade, Tata Steel, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), and JSW Steel all reached lower circuits.

Banks will no longer provide brokers with collateral-free intra-day funding.

Until now, intra-day exposures to market intermediaries were not deemed a "loan" to brokers, unlike guarantees to a broker or longer-term loans to cover proprietary trades. It remained essentially undefined because neither banks nor the regulator required it to be classified as capital market exposure. This changed when the RBI mandated that banks maintain current accounts for enterprises and corporations.
