Businessman Robert Vadra, son-in-law of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, has once again been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an ongoing money laundering investigation. The summons come as part of the agency’s continued probe into alleged financial irregularities and foreign asset holdings.

Reacting to the development, BJP leader and Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court, Nalin Kohli, raised questions over Vadra’s response to the investigation. Speaking to the media, Kohli remarked, “Robert Vadra can say he has given 20,000 pages. The question is whether it is relevant to the question being asked or not. Otherwise, you can go ahead and buy 5,000 books and present it. But the Enforcement Directorate is not to read what the material that you may be doing to obfuscate. They want to know directly on the issue, so that is between him and the agency.”

The ED has questioned Vadra multiple times in recent years, particularly over allegations concerning overseas property deals. While Vadra has denied all allegations and maintained that the investigations are politically motivated, central agencies assert that the inquiry is based on substantive leads and legal processes.

With both Robert Vadra and key Congress leaders facing mounting legal scrutiny, the opposition has accused the government of misusing investigative agencies, while the BJP insists the law is taking its own course.
