Akhilesh Yadav’s Remarks on SIR Baseless, Says BJP’s RP Singh; Calls for Probe in Ayodhya Namaz Incident

Date:

BJP leader RP Singh on Sunday hit out at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav over his statements questioning the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, calling the remarks “baseless” and politically motivated.

Responding to Akhilesh Yadav’s criticism, Singh said that by raising questions on SIR, the SP chief was indirectly admitting that public support for his party has declined. He asserted that if the Samajwadi Party still enjoys public backing, its Booth Level Agents (BLAs) should follow due process by filling Forms 6 and 7 for voters whose names have allegedly been removed.

“If those voters are alive or have been relocated elsewhere, the BLAs should raise the issue through proper channels. Instead, Akhilesh Yadav is making unfounded allegations,” Singh said, adding that the electoral revision process provides clear mechanisms to address genuine grievances.

RP Singh also commented on the recent incident in Ayodhya where a Kashmiri man was detained after attempting to offer namaz inside the Ram Mandir premises. He termed the act as a deliberate attempt to create disturbance and said it should not be viewed lightly.

“This mischief was done intentionally. A thorough investigation should be conducted to find out who is behind this young man, who is supporting such mischievous acts, and who wants to disturb peace and harmony,” the BJP leader said.

Authorities have stated that the situation in Ayodhya remains under control, while investigations into the incident are underway. The Samajwadi Party has not yet responded to RP Singh’s remarks.
