BJP Leader Tarun Chugh Defends Education Policy, Criticizes Opposition

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has strongly defended the National Education Policy (NEP) introduced under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, emphasizing its focus on promoting education in the mother tongue. His statement comes amid criticism from opposition parties, particularly the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and other members of the INDI alliance.

Speaking to the media, Chugh said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, this is the first education policy that ensures education is imparted in the mother tongue. This policy encourages the use of regional languages so that children can receive the best education in their native language."

He accused the DMK and its allies of spreading misinformation to divert public attention from their declining political influence. "DMK and other parties of the INDI alliance are making misleading statements to save their falling politics. The public is demanding answers from you (DMK) for your actions," he added.

The BJP has consistently promoted the NEP as a transformative initiative aimed at making education more inclusive and accessible by emphasizing regional languages. However, opposition parties, including the DMK, have raised concerns over its implications on linguistic diversity and regional autonomy.

With political tensions rising, the debate over education policies is expected to remain a key issue, especially in states where language politics plays a crucial role in electoral dynamics.
