BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal Defends Dharmendra Pradhan, Calls for Parliamentary Decorum

BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has defended Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over a recent controversy in Parliament, stating that the issue has already been addressed and should not be reignited. He emphasized the importance of maintaining parliamentary decorum and criticized those bringing up the matter again.

"Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has made this clear in Parliament. He has taken back the words he used. The Lok Sabha Speaker has removed it from the proceedings," Khandelwal said. He argued that once a matter has been resolved within the parliamentary framework, raising it again is against legislative principles.

"If a member makes a statement on a topic that has ended in Parliament, then I feel that parliamentary decorum is not being followed," he added.

The statement comes amid heightened political tensions, with opposition leaders continuing to target Pradhan despite his words being retracted and expunged from the records. Khandelwal’s remarks underline the BJP’s stance that parliamentary discussions should remain within formal channels rather than being used for political posturing outside the House.

With ongoing debates in Parliament becoming increasingly heated, the BJP has reiterated its commitment to procedural integrity while urging all parties to respect legislative norms. Whether the controversy surrounding Pradhan’s remarks will persist remains to be seen, but Khandelwal’s statement signals the party’s intent to put the issue to rest.
