Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogender Chandoliya on Tuesday stressed the need to protect the ecologically sensitive Aravali mountain range, asserting that any attempt to harm it will not be tolerated. Referring to recent developments, Chandoliya said that the Supreme Court has stayed the concerned decision, reinforcing legal safeguards for the region.

“The Aravali must remain protected. The Supreme Court has stayed the decision,” Chandoliya said, underlining the judiciary’s role in preserving the fragile ecosystem. He further expressed confidence in the Centre’s commitment to environmental conservation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Chandoliya added that if any such incident were to occur, it would not be allowed to proceed. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, if any such incident were to happen, it would not be allowed to happen. The Aravali will be saved and those who are involved in it will be punished,” he said.

The Aravali range, one of the oldest mountain systems in the world, plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, preventing desertification, and supporting biodiversity in the National Capital Region and adjoining states. Environmental concerns around mining, construction, and deforestation in the area have frequently drawn public and judicial scrutiny.

The MP’s remarks come amid heightened focus on environmental protection and compliance with court directives, with political leaders reiterating the need for strict enforcement to safeguard natural resources.
