Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra on Sunday strongly condemned the alleged derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother at an opposition event in Bihar’s Darbhanga, stating that such comments have deeply angered the public across the nation.

Speaking to reporters, Mishra said, “There is anger throughout the public. There is immense anger everywhere in the country. The kind of language used against the late mother of the Prime Minister has also caused anger, and the fact that none of their leaders have apologised for it... The public will give a befitting reply for this.”

Mishra’s statement comes amid widespread protests by BJP leaders and workers across different states against the INDIA bloc for allegedly allowing such remarks to be made from their platform. According to him, the issue is not limited to political rivalry but concerns the dignity of mothers and women in Indian society.

The minister further pointed out that the opposition’s silence and refusal to apologise reflects their mindset and disregard for public sentiment. He added that the BJP respects women and mothers, and any insult in this regard is an insult to the entire nation.

Public reactions have also been pouring in on social media, with many users expressing disappointment and outrage over the remarks. Political observers believe the issue is likely to escalate further in the run-up to the upcoming elections, with the BJP determined to take it to the people’s court.
