BJP MP Anurag Thakur Slams Congress-NC Alliance Following Pakistan's Defence Minister's Support for Article 370

BJP MP Anurag Thakur delivered a sharp critique of the Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in the wake of statements made by Pakistan's Defence Minister backing their position on Article 370. Thakur argued that this alignment exposes a shared agenda among the Congress, NC, and Pakistan, revealing their "same intentions and mindset."

In his remarks, Thakur stated, "Pakistan's Defence Minister supporting the Congress-NC alliance's stance on Article 370 has unmasked Congress in front of the people." He expressed concern over what he sees as Congress's history of questioning national security during critical moments, referencing past instances where the party allegedly raised doubts during military operations like the Airstrike and Surgical Strike.

Thakur questioned the motivations of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asking, "Why does he always stand with anti-national forces? Why does he support the 'Tukde-Tukde' gang?" He accused Gandhi and the Congress of trying to reinstate Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, a move Thakur firmly opposes. "Forty-five thousand people have lost their lives due to terrorism. How many more corpses do they want to see?" he asked, highlighting the tragic toll of violence in the region.

Thakur's comments reflect the BJP's ongoing campaign to position itself as the defender of national integrity and security, particularly in relation to Jammu and Kashmir. His statements aim to galvanize public sentiment against the Congress-NC alliance, framing it as detrimental to both national interests and the safety of citizens. As the political landscape evolves, the BJP continues to leverage such controversies to strengthen its narrative ahead of upcoming elections.
