Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk have underscored a new chapter in Indo-Polish relations, marking a significant milestone in their bilateral ties. During a joint press conference in Warsaw, the leaders celebrated the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland and announced the elevation of their relationship to a strategic partnership.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the historic nature of his visit, noting that it is the first time an Indian Prime Minister has visited Poland in 45 years. “The 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations is a landmark occasion,” Modi said. “This visit signifies the strengthening of our ties and the beginning of a new phase in our bilateral relationship.”

The strategic partnership, as outlined in their discussions, aims to deepen cooperation across various sectors, including trade, defense, and technology. Modi and Tusk agreed that this elevated relationship would pave the way for more robust collaboration and mutual growth.

“This new framework of strategic partnership will enable us to explore new avenues for collaboration and enhance our cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” Modi added. He highlighted the importance of this enhanced relationship in the context of the evolving global landscape and the need for strong international partnerships.

Prime Minister Tusk echoed Modi’s sentiments, expressing enthusiasm for the expanded cooperation. “Today marks a new era in Polish-Indian relations. Our strategic partnership will open up new opportunities for both our nations and further strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration,” Tusk said.

The announcement comes at a time when both countries are looking to boost their economic and strategic engagements. The elevated partnership is expected to focus on various areas including investment, technological innovation, and defense cooperation.

This development is seen as a significant step in fostering closer ties between India and Poland, reflecting a broader trend of increasing diplomatic and economic interactions in the region.
